I'm not sure if I should wear jeans and a dress shirt or if that's not appropriate for a sports banquet and if I should wear dress pants or something.
What do you guys think? I'm a male btw.

I wore navy shorts, heels, navy tights and a white sweater to mine. But that was in the fall. Most people wear sundresses or dress pants and a nice shirt/polo.

Reply:When I went to a scholarship Banquet at my college if someone showed up in jeans they would probably have their scholarship taken away. I think dark pants and a light shirt. A tie is preferable. If you are in California or Florida you can probably get away with Khaki pants and a button down shirt. Shoes should be worn NO SNEAKS Even if it is basketball awards
