What to wear in NYC?

Im goin into the city tomorrow to meet people. Were going out for dinner then maybe clubs idk.... but idk what to wear. this is a first time meeting so i dont know what there wearing. I want to wear nice plaid shorts, nice polo.. but i was told i shouldnt wear that into the city and clubs wont allow it... then i was told to wear kahkis, with button down shirt...... but its going to be so hot out.. even at night it will be 70's or higher... what should i wear? i dont want to be overdressed but i dont want everyone else to dress up etc..

pple are always EXTREMELY dressed up in nyc... you HAVE to be dressed up at all times or pple will seriously look at you crazy. nyc is very fashion oriented... afterall... it is one of the fashion capitals of the world. with that being said... some nicely fitted khakis and a sexy button up shirt (fitted just right... not too big.... not too tight) with the top few buttons left down a bit... and a nice belt. there ya go... works for day and night... :)





oh and by the way... i'm not thinking of a sunday best sort of look... but more of a just got off of work.. threw my blazer over my shoulder and unbuttoned my shirt a bit to loosen up... thats sexy. lol...





and im not from nyc but i have spent much time there... but i agree... if you plan on going to the club then an undershirt would be a good idea so u can take the button down off and cool down a bit. but even at a casual restaurant... it is still a good idea to be overdressed than underdressed in nyc. either way... hope you hav a good time. :)

well it depends on the club. if it is a nice club they arent going to allow it. you should probably wear the kahkis ( you decide if they do look nice) and a nice looking polo but it shouldn't be multicolored. one color is good.
Reply:no offense to that girl but i highly doubt she lives in nyc. we're not as strict as she makes it seems we're not some crazy vicious fashionistas that will hunt you down for wearing the wrong thing. wear a wife beater inside your button down shirt if anything so if you get really hot you can just take it off. It's suppose to be really hot from like saturday till tuesday. and for your bottoms, i'm not really sure. but for the most part, wear light colored fabric that has a loose fit.
