What is the different between zircornia ring and diamond?

i want to buy a zirconia ring for my engagement ring and i want to know the different between zirconia ring and diamond ring.
What is the different between zircornia ring and diamond?
Zirconia may be man-made, Zr element.

Diamonds are natural, carbon.

What is the different between zircornia ring and diamond?
Cubic zirconia versus diamond:

Cubic zirconia is so optically close to diamond that only a trained eye can easily differentiate the two. There are a few key features of cubic zirconia which distinguish it from diamond, some observable only under the microscope or loupe, for example:

* Dispersion: With a dispersive power greater than diamond (0.060 vs. 0.044) the more prismatic fire of cubic zirconia can be seen by even an untrained eye.

* Hardness: Cubic zirconia has an 8.5 to %26lt;9.0 on the Mohs hardness scale vs. a rating of 10 for diamonds.

* Specific gravity: Cubic zirconia crystals are heavyweights in comparison to diamonds; a cubic zirconia will weigh about 1.7 times more than a diamond of equivalent size.

* Flaws: Contemporary production of cubic zirconia is virtually flawless,[citation needed] whereas most diamonds have some sort of defect, be it a feather, included crystal, or perhaps a remnant of an original crystal face (e.g. trigons).

* Refractive index: Cubic zirconia has a refractive index of 2.176, compared to a diamond's 2.417.

* Cut: Under close inspection with a loupe, the facet shapes of some cubic zirconias appear different from diamonds.

* Color (or more precisely, the lack thereof): Only the rarest of diamonds are truly colorless, most having a tinge of yellow or brown to some extent. By comparison, cubic zirconia can be made in most cases entirely colorless: equivalent to a perfect "D" on diamond's color grading scale.

* Thermal conductivity: Cubic zirconias are thermal insulators while diamonds are among the most efficient thermal conductors, exceeding copper. This makes telling the difference between diamond and cubic zirconia quite easy for those with the right instruments.
Reply:the diomond rings are mor expenseve
Reply:yes cubic zirconium is man made and so cheaper, diamond real. but chemically they r similar.
Reply:The the diffirent between zirconia stone and the real diamond is that the zirconia is man made by laboratory while the real diamond is a very hard stone which is came from mother nature in the ground. But nothing wrong of zirconia only is not a real diamond some are looklike a real thing if you just look in a naked eye.But then again if you want to buy a zirconia for your engagement ring well, go for it anyway it's your choose.Good luck to your engagement.
Reply:So what is the difference between diamond and cubic zirconia? Why is cubic zirconia (CZ) quickly becoming more popular as a desirable substitute for diamond? Gemologists can agree that CZ comes closer than any other gem material to matching the characteristics of a diamond.

Most people, even trained gemologists, cannot tell the difference between diamond and CZ, with the naked eye. Moreover, to the untrained eye, CZ looks identical to a good quality diamond. However, under closer inspection, CZ appears to have slightly less brilliance (or sparkle) than a diamond, and more fire, or flashes of color.
